2. Jeju City installs ‘air curtains’ at bus stops
80 more installations to come at 14 locations

The Jeju Municipal Office is installing ‘air curtains’ at bus stops to protect bus passengers from heat waves.

An ‘air curtain’ emits strong winds for up to five minutes when users press the switch. It can help passengers to stay cool while waiting.

The system is currently being tested at two platforms in bus median lanes. 80 more of the cooling facilities will be installed at 14 locations including Jeju National University Hospital and Jeju Jungang Girls High School.

Jeju City also changed the ceiling of bus stops to aluminum composite panels to block sunlight.

에어커튼이란
스위치를 누르면 최대 5분 동안 강한 바람이 나오는 시설로
버스 이용객들이 대기하는 동안 체감온도를 낮출 수 있습니다.

현재 에어커튼은
중앙차로 정류장 2곳에서 시범 운영되고 있으며
앞으로 제주대병원과 중앙여고 등 14곳에 추가로 80개가 설치됩니다.

이와 함께 제주시는
버스정류장 천정을 알루미늄복합판넬로 바꿔
햇빛이 투과되지 않도록 개선했습니다.
