2. Governor asks land ministry to give the go ahead for 2nd airport
25 related projects under review for basic plan inclusion

Governor Won Hee-ryong officially asked the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to grant the provincial government operation rights to the island’s second airport.

Governor Won met the Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kim Hyun-mi at the Korea Territorial Development Museum in Seoul on Wednesday. He requested the ministry to insert an additional article to support the province’s participation in operating the new airport.

Minister Kim Hyun-mi replied that the ministry will carefully consider the proposal.

Governor Won also requested that the ministry review 25 projected related to the second airport. These include offering support to local residents, addressing noise pollution issues, and the implementation of a new transportation system as detailed in the basic plan.
