Plans for blockchain and skin care industry cancelled

The provincial government decided to only apply for the designation of the island as an electric vehicle regulation-free zone and postpone applications for blockchain and skin care industry. Seoul is establishing regulation-free zones across the nation to boost local economies by nurturing industries.

The local government’s Future Strategy Bureau Director Rho Hee-seop said the province decided to only apply for the EV industry under Seoul’s guidelines that each local government applies for a single industry.

Director Rho added that that the province is currently receiving consultation from experts. Local officials plan on submitting the revised plan by the end of next month for the second round of discussions on designating Jeju a EV special zone.

Jeju was included in Seoul’s primary consultation list for EV special zones in April. However, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups evaluated the initial agenda ineffective and demanded the province to submit a revised plan.

Meanwhile, the province’s applications for blockchain and skin care industries were turned down in April.

2차 협의 대상에 신청할 계획이라고 덧붙였습니다.

제주도의 블록체인과 화장품 특구는
정부 심사 대상에서 빠졌고
전기차 특구는 사업 보완을 이유로 보류된 바 있습니다.
