4. Sustainable Development Jeju Intl’ Conference held June 18-19
Attendees adopt a joint statement to promote sustainability

The 1st Sustainable Development Jeju International Conference was held under the theme of ‘ Healthy Planet! Starts from The Local’ at Maison Glad Jeju Hotel from June 18th to 19th. The conference was aimed to find cooperative solutions for environmental and social issues.

The conference was co-hosted by the provincial government and provincial council. There were approximately 300 participants, including Governor Won Hee-ryong, provincial council Chairman Kim Tae-seok and Valerie Cliff, the Deputy Regional Director of Regional Bureau for Asia and the Pacific.

Participants shared the progress of each national and local government pursuing the sustainable development goals set by the UN Assembly through presentations and discussions.

They also adopted a joint statement to achieve sustainable development.

18일 개막해 19일까지 메종글래드호텔에서 열렸습니다..

제주도의회와 제주특별자치도가 함께 마련한
지속가능발전 제주 국제컨퍼런스에는
원희룡 지사와 김태석 의장,
그리고 발레리 클리프 UNDP 아시아태평양지역 부국장 등
3백여 명이 참석했습니다.

UN 총회에서 채택된 지속가능발전목표에 대한
각 나라와 지자체별 추진 상황을
주제발표와 토론회 등을 통해 공유했습니다.

아울러 지속가능발전 목표 이행을 위한
공동선언문도 채택했습니다.
