5. Maintenance construction of ‘Sombancheon’ stream completes
The stream named an example of excellence by Ministry of Environment

The maintenance construction of the Sombancheon Stream in Seogwipo City is complete.

The Seogwipo Municipal Office spent 400 million won to install night lighting and other amenities and remodel public restrooms since this March.

The improved amenities are expected to offer an area for visitors to rest and enjoy the night view.

Sombancheon Stream, which is a very popular site with 12,000 visitors each year, was named an example of excellence in ecological restoration by the Ministry of Environment in 2004.

서귀포시 '솜반천' 편의시설 설치

서귀포시 생태하천인
솜반천 정비사업이 마무리됐습니다.

서귀포시는
지난 3월부터 예산 4억여 원을 투입해
진행한 야간 조명과 편의시설 설치,
공중화장실 리모델링 등을
모두 마무리 했다고 밝혔습니다.

이번 솜반천 정비사업을 통해
시민들에게 보다 쾌적한 휴식공간과
야간 볼거리를 제공할 것으로 기대됩니다.

한편 솜반천은
해마다 1만 2천여 명이 찾는 도심 속 하천으로
환경부의 생태복원 우수사례로 선정된 바 있습니다.
