Officers confiscate proof of illegal developers

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency has requested an arrest warrant for those in connection with the unauthorized development of Daeseom Island in Jocheon-eup, which was covered by KCTV news.

The local police said it requested an arrest warrant for the head of a landscaping company and the manager of a private school foundation owning land in Daesom Island for allegedly damaging 21,500 square meters of preservation area.

Officers revealed that the landscaping company tried to transform the area to a private tourist site knowing that the land was under protection as a preservation zone. The company had colluded with the manager of the private school foundation.

The police added that they confisticated documents on the company's transactions and a plan for developing Daesum Island. They also secured phone calls and text messages related to the development activities during the search.
