Lawmaker to revise Act for the public to recognize criminals

It has been belatedly confirmed that Koh Yu-jeong dropped a lawsuit against the Jeju Provincial Police Agency’s decision to disclose her personal information.

Ko Yu-jeong is a 36-year-old woman, currently under arrest for allegedly killing her ex-husband at a pension in Jocheon-eup.

Koh’s lawsuit followed a press release of her picture on June 7th after the local police decided to disclose Koh’s personal information on June 5th.

According to the Jeju District Court, Koh had filed a lawsuit to annul the local police’s decision on June 7th, but dropped her case after three days.

소송을 취하했다고 밝혔습니다.

고유정은
제주지방경찰청이 신상공개 결정을 내린 이틀 뒤인 지난 7일
얼굴이 취재진에게 포착됐지만
공개된 자리에서는 줄곧 얼굴을 가려왔습니다.

한편 더불어민주당 안규백 의원은
고유정처럼 얼굴을 가리는 것을 막기 위해
신상공개를 할 때에는
반드시 얼굴을 알아볼 수 있도록 하는
'특정 강력 범죄의 처벌에 관한 특례법' 개정안을
발의할 예정입니다.
