5. Tightened restrictions on DUI go into effect
Inspections all over the island during morning and night

The Jeju Provincial Police Agency began its crackdown on Driving Under the Influence from midnight Tuesday with tightened restrictions by amending the Road Traffic Act.

The local police are conducting inspections all over the island with the local police precinct stations during the morning and night.

A driver is subject to punishment if his or her blood alcohol content is 0.03% or higher.

The level of blood alcohol content subject to driver’s license revocation is lowered from 0.1% to 0.08%.

Drivers caught twice for DUI are now subject to revocation of their licenses.

음주운전 단속과 처벌 기준이 크게 강화됩니다.

경찰은
개정된 도로교통법이 내일부터 본격 시행됨에 따라
기존 혈중알코올 농도 0.05%였던
음주운전 단속 기준을 0.03%로 낮춥니다.

또 면허 취소기준은
현재 0.1%서 0.08%로 강화됩니다.

경찰은 특히
당분간 심야시간은 물론
아침 출근시간에 음주운전 특별단속을 실시할 계획입니다.
