3. NIFS warns local fishing farms of damages from high water temperature
Sea temperature is forecasted to be 28

The sea temperature is expected to be higher than usual this summer. Local fishing farms need to prepare for potential damage from it.

The National Institute of Fisheries Science said the surface water temperature will be one degree higher than average this summer due to the Tsushima current.

The institute forecasted that water temperature will rise from 26 to 28 celsius during mid-to late July.

In order to reduce damages of local fishing farms, the province will encourage fishing farmers to buy disaster insurance and support liquid gas installation.

Meanwhile, a high water temperature alert was issued for more than a month in last year and 640,000 flat fish were killed at local fishing farms.

수온이 26도에서 28도까지 올라
고수온주의보가 발령될 것으로 예측했습니다.

제주도는
양식어가 피해를 줄이기 위해 재해보험 가입을 독려하고
양식장 액화가스 사업도 지원할 계획입니다.

한편 지난해 제주에서는 한달 이상 고수온 주의보가 발령됐고,
이로 인해 양식광어 64만 마리가 폐사했습니다.
