40% of local pig farms designated as odor control zones

The province additionally designated 56 pig farms as odor control zones.

44 pig farms located in (상명리)Sangmyeong-ri and ()Geumak-ri in Hallim-eup were designated on Tuesday. 12 isolated pig farms were also designated as zones required to report installation of smell-emission facilities under the revised anti-odor law.

The total number of local pig farms designated as odor control zones increased from 57 to 113. This is 40% of pig facilities in Jeju.

All of pig facilities designated as the zones are required to come up with plans to cut down on the smell and build odor removers within 6 months of designation. Otherwise, they will be fined along with an improvement order.

한림읍 상명리와 금악리에 밀집된 양돈장 44곳이 악취관리지역으로,

그리고 개정된 악취방지법에 따라
단독으로 설치된 양돈장 12곳이
신고대상 악취배출시설로 각각 지정됩니다.

이에따라 도내 악취관리지역 양돈장은
기존 57군데에 더해 모두 113곳으로 늘어 전체의 40%까지 확대됐습니다.

이들 양돈장은
앞으로 6개월 이내에 악취방지계획을 제출하고
저감시설을 설치해야 하며
이행하지 않을 경우
개선명령과 함께 과징금이 부과됩니다.
