5. Retired haenyeo over age 80 to receive increased monthly allowances
Province to grant \300K for 3 years

The province will offer a higher monthly allowance to retired haenyeo women seadivers over 80 years old.

Previously, haneyo received 200,000 won or less every month based on age.

Beginning next month, 300,000 won will be given to every haenyeo aged 80 or more every month for three years after retirement according to the enforcement regulations announced this May.

All retired haenyeo over age 80 as of 2017 are eligible to apply. They can receive the allowance by submitting certificates of haenyeo to community service centers or municipal offices.

There are 660 out of 3,900 woman divers in Jeju are over age 80.

7월부터 80세 이상 해녀에 '은퇴수당' 지급

다음 달부터 80살 이상 고령해녀에게 은퇴수당이 지급됩니다.

제주도는
지난 5월 공표된 해녀어업 육성 조례 시행규칙에 따라
내달부터
80살 이상 고령 해녀에게
은퇴 이후 3년 동안 매월 30만 원을 지급합니다.

2017년 기준 80살 이상 해녀는
읍면동과 행정시에 해녀증을 제출하면 수당을 받을 수 있습니다.

제주도내 해녀 3천 9백명 가운데
80살 이상 고령해녀는 660 명으로 17%를 차지하고 있습니다.
