1. Prosecutors to indict suspect of Jeju murder case on July 1
Koh Yu-jeong to face 4 charges

The Jeju District Public Prosecutor’s Office has wrapped up its investigation on Koh Yu-jeong’s case within June and will indict her on July 1.

Koh is a 36-year-old woman currently under arrest for allegedly killing her ex-husband at a pension in Jocheon-eup. She dismembered and disposed of his body to get rid of evidence.

Koh is expected to face four charges of murder, body dismemberment, abandonment and concealment during trial.

As the victim’s body is still nowhere to be found for more than a month, it is not sure about whether the police can prove her charges of murder and abandonment

Prosecutors, however, are saying it is not a problem to prove them as there are ample evidences such as CCTV footage and Koh’s confession of crime.

검찰, 살해 피의자 고유정 내달 1일 기소

전 남편 살해사건 피의자 고유정이 7월 1일 재판에 넘겨집니다.

제주지방검찰청은
6월 안에
고유정에 대한 수사를 마무리하고
다음달 1일 기소할 예정이라고 밝혔습니다.

고유정에게는
앞서 경찰 송치 때와 마찬가지로
살인과 사체 손괴, 유기, 은닉 등
4가지 혐의가 적용될 것으로 예상됩니다.

사건 발생 한달 여가 지나도록
피해자의 시신이 전혀 발견되지 않아
살인과 유기 혐의를 입증할 수 있을지 우려가 나오고 있지만

검찰은 고유정의 자백이 있었고
CCTV 등 증거가 충분해
혐의 입증에는 문제가 없다는 입장입니다.
