1. Temporary school workers to go on strike on July 3
1000 staffs participates in the strike

An association of temporary school workers, including cafeteria cooks and caretakers, has decided to go on a full strike from July 3rd for three days.

Members of the association held a press conference in front of the Jeju Provincial Office of Education on Monday and said they are going on strike to negotiate wages and establish a fair salary system for temporary school staffs.

1,000 people out of the 1,700 members of the association will participate in the strike.

The Provincial Office of Education announced countermeasures to provide alternative meals and student care services during the strike on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, student care services will be provided as usual by substitute teachers.

이들은 1일 제주도교육청 앞에서 기자회견을 열고
임금교섭과 공정 임금제 실현 등을 위해
파업에 돌입한다고 밝혔습니다

이번 파업에는
조합원 1천7백여 명 가운데 1천여 명 정도가
동참할 것이라고 알려졌습니다.

이에 따라
학교 급식과 돌봄교실 운영에 차질이 예상되는 가운데
제주도교육청은
2일 대응책을 발표하기로 했습니다.
