Council chair says local opinions 'must reach' land ministry

In related news, the provincial council Chairman Kim Tae-seok emphasized the need to conduct a public opinion poll regarding the island’s second airport.

Chairman Kim said at the provincial council’s 375th provisional session held on July 1st that the islanders’ requests for a public opinion poll on the new airport is growing.

He added that the local government should not overlook requests for the public survey as local residents are concerned about the potential controversies that may be spurred by unilaterally pushing forward the construction project.

Meanwhile, the Democratic Party of Korea council member Song Yeong-hoon and the Bareunmirae Party council member Han Yeong-jin was each elected as Chair and Vice-chair of the second Special Committee on Budget and Accounts, which will run until June 2020.
