1. No caves found at the construction site of the 2nd airport
Briefing on environmental assessment to be held on July 11th

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport conducted an environmental impact assessment on the construction site of the second airport and found no caves.

According to the first draft of the environmental impact assessment report, no cave entrances or caves common in the island were found at 109 potential cave sites selected by experts.

The team also confirmed through literature and field studies and reports from residents, that caves with cultural, scenic or academic values were unlikely to exist in the planned construction site.

A briefing on the environmental impact assessment for islanders will be held on July 11th at Seongsan-eup.

동굴 전문가가 예정지에서
용암동굴이 분포할 가능성이 있는 지점 109개소를 선정해 조사한 결과

동굴 입구를 확인할 수 없었고
제주에서 흔히 볼 수 있는 형태의 동굴이 있을 가능성도
없는 것으로 파악됐습니다.

문헌과 주민 제보, 탐문 등을 통해서도
제2공항 예정지 내에 문화재나 경관,
학술가치가 있는 동굴 분포 가능성은 없는 것으로 판단했습니다.
