3. Broker of Chinese illegal migrants sentenced to prison
Defendant to be jailed for 1.5 years

The Jeju District Court Judge Seo Keun-chan sentenced the 38-year-old defendant surnamed Ma to one and a half years in prison. He assisted three Chinese non-visa holders in illegally entering other Korean provinces in May last year.

Judge Seo said in his ruling that the sentence was made in light of the fact that the crime could cause serious disruption to immigration administration and that the defendant led the crime for economic benefit.

다른 지역으로 무단 이탈시키려던 혐의로 기소된
38살 마 모 피고인에게
징역 1년 3개월의 실형을 선고했습니다.

서 부장판사는 판결문에서
이번 범행이
출입국 관리행정에 심각한 지장을 초래할 수 있고
피고인이 경제적인 이익을 목적으로
범행을 주도한 점을 감안해
이 같이 선고한다고 판시했습니다.
