The National Police Agency is probing the investigation into the murder suspect Koh Yu-jeong.

It examines the whole investigation process as some argue the initial investigation was poor.

Meanwhile, a probe team has been dispatched from (청주) Cheongju police to the island for reinvestigation into the death of the suspect's stepson.

The Jeju District Police Agency is taking a closer look at its investigation into murder suspect Koh Yu-jeong. Some controversy over the initial investigation has prompted this second look.

The Koh Yu-jeong Investigation Review Team is comprised of five people, including (이연욱) Yi Yeong-uk, the chief of the section of violent crimes. Together they are seeking the truth concerning the investigation process by questioning the detective who dealt with the murder case at the Jeju (동부) Dongbu Police Station.

The team's probe is focused on the failure to collect video from nearby surveillance cameras, preserve crime scene evidence, and collect zolpidem sleeping pills while searching Koh's home.

This probe was launched the day after National Police Agency Commissioner General (민갑룡) Min Gap-ryong announced that his office would take disciplinary action if fault was found.

Along with the examination, the police are reinvestigating the death of the suspect's stepson.

An investigation team has been dispatched to the Jeju Correctional Institution from (청주) Cheongju to question Koh over the death of her stepson.



The Cheongju Sangdang Police report that they can't say if Koh keeps silent as the investigation continues, but that they expect several rounds of questioning to be needed.

Meanwhile, the first trial for suspect Koh Yu-jeong, who was indicted on charges of murder, dismemberment, and concealment of the victim's body, is expected to be held in two months.
