5. Human rights group points to problems with EV chargers for the disabled
29 charging facilities found to be 'inappropriately' installed

The Human Rights Forum of Persons With Disabilities in Jeju held a press conference at the provincial council on July 12th and pointed out the disabled have difficulty of using many electric vehicles chargers for disabled in Jeju.

According to their study of 51 EV charging stations for the disabled since last year, they said that 29 out of 51 facilities have been inappropriately installed.

The group stressed that the province should designate installation standards and switch the charging cable to be electrically-powered to prevent accidents.

제주도내 전기차 충전소 상당수가
장애인 접근이 어렵게 설치됐다며 이에 대한 개선을 요구했습니다.

이들은
제주도가 지난해부터 교통약자를 위한다며 설치한
충전기 51기를 조사한 결과
절반 이상인 29기가
부적절하게 설치됐다고 주장했습니다.

이에 따라 교통약자를 위한 설치기준과 규격을 마련하고
사고 예방을 위해
충전케이블을 전동형태로 바꿀 것을 강조했습니다.
