4. KTO to replace palm trees at the entrance of Jungmun Tourist Complex
400 new trees to take the place of 280 old palm trees

The Jeju branch of Korea Tourism Organization decided to replace palm trees that were planted 35 years ago at the entrance of Jungmun Tourism Complex in Seogwipo City.

A total of 280 palm trees will be removed to prevent potential accidents caused by falling trees due to strong winds and storms.

KTO plans to replace the palm trees by the end of this month with some 400 new palm trees from September.

지난 82년부터 식재돼 35년 넘은
중문관광단지 입구의 야자수를 제거하기로 했습니다.

이번에 제거하는 야자수는 280그루이며
노후화와
강풍이나 태풍 내습에 따른 안전사고를 대비하기 위한 조칩니다.

한국관광공사는
이달말까지 기존 야자수를 모두 제거하고
오는 9월부터
새로운 야자수 400여그루를 심을 계획입니다.
