1. 4·3 Peace Foundation dispatch research team to U.S.
Investigations to unveil U.S. involvement in Jeju 4·3 massacre

The April 3rd Peace Foundation dispatched a research team to the U.S. to find evidence of U.S. involvement in the April 3rd Incident.

The research team will study material from the National Archives and Record Administration(NARA), the US Army Research Laboratory, the MacArthur Memorial, the Library of Congress, and the Hoover Institution by the end of this year.

The team will expand its search to data in umbrella organizations of the military command system such as the U.S. government and the Far East Command (FECOM).

The foundation is planning to publish a book based on analysis of factual evidence collected from the U.S.. It also plans on issuing an additional fact finding report.

제주 4·3 평화재단은 최근
미국 자료 현지조사팀을 꾸며 현지로 파견했습니다.

올 연말까지 1차적으로
미국 자료의 보고인 미국립문서기록관리청을 비롯해
미육군군사연구소와 맥아더기념관, 의회도서관,
후버연구소 등을 대상으로 4·3 관련 현지조사에 나서게 됩니다.

특히 미국정부나 미극동군사령부 등
명령체계의
상위 기관 생산자료까지 확대해 수집한다는 계획입니다.

제주 4·3평화재단은
수집된 미국자료를 분석해
미국 문서 자료집을 펴내는 한편
추가 진상조사보고서를 발간한다는 구상입니다.
