THAAD and lack of competitive advantage cause revenue plunge

Local casino sales have dropped significantly during the first half of this year.

According to the Korea Casino Association, sales of eight casinos in Jeju during the first half of this year plunged to 92.2 billion won, which is one-fifth of sales during the same period last year.

Landing Casino, which opened in Jeju Shinhwa World, saw its sales stay at 24 billion won, about 6 percent of sales of the same period last year, as VIPs stopped visiting.

The sharp drop in local casino sales is due to the continued impact from THAAD and the lack of competitive advantage.

VIP들의 방문이 끊기면서
매출이 지난해 같은 기간의 6% 수준인 240억원에 머물렀습니다.

이처럼 도내 카지노 매출이 급감한 것은
사드 여파가 아직도 계속되고 있는데다
다른 지역 카지노업체와의 경쟁에서 밀리고 있기 때문으로
분석되고 있습니다.
