3. Water quality monitoring at 18 local beaches show positive results
Low E. coli and bacteria content proves good water quality

Local beach waters are in good quality.

The Jeju Institute for Health and Environment conducted a water quality inspection for 18 designated and non-designated beaches currently open to visitors. Study results showed that the water quality of the inspected sites are ‘adequate’ with especially low levels of E. coli and bacteria.

The institute cautioned that the rise sea water temperature due to heat waves can cause microorganisms to proliferate very easily.

제주도내 해수욕장 수질이 비교적 양호한 것으로 나타났습니다.

제주도보건환경연구원이 최근
개장중인 지정해수욕장과
비지정해수욕장 18개소의 수질을 조사한 결과
모두 적합한 것으로 판정됐다고 밝혔습니다.

이번 조사는
대장균과 장구균에 대해 이뤄졌는데,
해수욕장 수질기준에 크게 밑도는 것으로 조사됐습니다.

보건환경연구원은
폭염으로 인해 해수 온도가 상승할 경우
미생물이 쉽게 증식할 수 있어 각별한 주의를 당부했습니다.
