1. Seoul’s full subsidy for Dodu Sewage Treatment Plant ‘Uncertain’
Province to negotiate national fund subsidy rate from 25 to 70%

The provincial government’s plan to receive full subsidy from Seoul to modernize the Dodu Sewage Treatment Plant, which was exempt from preliminary feasibility studies, has ground to a halt.

Local officials recently met with the National Assembly’s budget committee and the Ministry of Economy and Finance to discuss ways to gain state funds. Seoul replied that it is difficult to provide full state funds under the current law and system.

Thus, the provincial office is trying to raise the subsidy to fund the project of modernizing the Dodu Sewage Treatment Plant.

Local officials will soon again arrange another meeting with the Ministry of Environment and the finance ministry to propose raising the subsidy rate from 25 percent to more than 70 percent of the project cost which is 380 billion won.

사실상 어려워졌습니다.

제주특별자치도는
최근 국회 예결위원회와 기재부를 찾아
국비 지원 방안에 대해 협의했지만
현재 법과 제도상 국비 전액 지원은
어렵다는 정부 방침을 설득하는데 실패했습니다.

이에따라 보조금 지원비율을
올리는 쪽으로 협의를 진행하고 있습니다.

현재 총 사업비 3천 8백억 여 원 가운데
국비 반영률은 25%로
제주도는 이를 70% 이상으로 높여 달라고
조만간 기재부와 환경부를 다시 방문해 건의하기로 했습니다.
