2. Unmarked police cars to begin patrols in August
Local police heighten crackdown on dangerous drivers

The province will run a pilot program in August with unmarked police cars cracking down on dangerous drivers.

The police agency has decided to operate unmarked police cars on the Ilju Road, Pyeonghwa-ro, and Beonyeong-ro, at which frequency rate of automobile death accident is six times higher than that of other roads.

The patrol cars will be unmarked and cracking down on reckless drivers.

Police will fully operate the unmarked police cars from October after a promotional and trial operation period during August and September.

난폭운전이나 얌체운전 같이 위험 차량을 단속하기 위한
암행순찰차가
제주에서도 운영됩니다.

제주지방경찰청은
일반 도로보다 사망사고 발생율이 최고 6배까지 높은
일주도로와 평화로, 번영로에 한해
암행 순찰차를 도입해 운영하기로 했습니다.

암행 순찰차는
육안으로는 일반 승용차와 비슷해 보이지만
단속장비를 갖추고 도로를 주행하며 사고 위험 차량을 단속하게 됩니다.

경찰은 8월과 9월
홍보 기간과 시범 운영을 거쳐
10월부터 암행 순찰차를 본격 투입할 예정입니다.
