1. Jeju excluded from regulation-free zone lists
8 other local governments designated as industry special zones

Seoul decided not to include Jeju in its list for regulation-free zones.

The province have pushed to be designated as blockchain, electric vehicle and cosmetic regulation-free zones. It was previously selected a primary candidate for negotiations to be designated as a regulation-free zone for electric vehicles. However, its initial plan for the EV zone was rejected and the province failed to be listed in any of the three zones.

Eight other local governments have been designated as regulation free zones. Busan was selected to create a blockchain special zone.

Seoul plans to hold a review committee at the end of this year to designate suitable projects for remaining seven regions, including Jeju.

정부는
아직 특구로 지정되지 못한
제주를 포함한 나머지 7개 시도에 대해서는
연말쯤 심의위원회를 개최해
지역에 맞는 사업을 지정한다는 계획입니다.
