Won claims designation of Jeju as regulation-free zones

In related news, Governor Won Hee-ryong met with South Korean President Moon Jae-in at Busan to propose Jeju to be designated as an electric vehicle regulation-free zone.

Governor Won explained that Jeju is currently leading the domestic distribution of electric vehicles with unparallelled EV charging infrastructure. He stressed that the island must be designated an EV regulation-free zone to promote related industries as well.

The governor also suggested flexible operations of working time limit of 52 hours a week, as it is essential for mandarin orange packaging and shipping centers.

문재인 대통령에게
제주를 규제자유특구로 지정해 줄 것을 건의했습니다.

원 지사는
24일 오전 부산에서 열린
대통령과 시.도지사 간담회에서
제주의 경우
전기차 보급의 선두주자로서 역할을 하고 있으며
충전 인프라 역시
다른 시도와 비교되지 않을 만큼 갖춰져 있다고
설명했습니다.

따라서 이를 연관산업으로 발전시키기 위해서는
제주도가 반드시 전기차 규제특구로 지정돼야 한다고 요청했습니다.

이와 함께 원 지사는
주 52시간제 도입으로
감귤거점산지유통센터나 선과장의 경우 부작용이 나타날 수 있다며
산업적 특성과 계절 요인을 감안한
탄력 있는 운영을 건의했습니다.
