Drunk driving accidents and injuries show significant drop

The second Yoon Chang-ho Law, which imposes harsher punishments and rigorous standards for drunk driving, has been implemented throughout the country from June 25th. Since then more than 170 people have been caught for Driving Under the Influence in Jeju Island.

According to the Jeju Provincial Police Agency, 174 people were caught for drunk driving over the past month from June 25th.

106 drivers had their licenses revoked and the rest had their license suspended.

However, there were less drunk driving accidents and injuries than the same period last year with a total of 21 drunk driving accidents with 29 injuries. This is a decrease of 16 accidents and 25 injuries, respectively.

제2 윤창호법 한달…제주서 174명 적발

음주운전 단속 기준이 강화된
이른바 제2의 윤창호법 시행 이후
제주에서는 170여 명이 단속에 적발됐습니다.

제주지방경찰청에 따르면,
지난달 25일부터 한달 동안
제주에서 음주운전 단속에 적발된 운전자는
174명으로 집계됐습니다.

이 가운데 혈중 알코올농도 0.8% 이상으로
면허취소가 취소된 운전자는 106명,
나머지는 면허정지 처분을 받았습니다.

지난 한달 동안 음주운전 사고는
21건이 발생해 29명이 다쳤으며
지난해 같은 기간보다
사고 건수는 16건, 부상자는 25명 줄었습니다.
