4. Jeju City to create an underground road near Jeju Int’l Airport
Constructions to begin September, road to open in 2020

An underground road will be built near the Jeju International Airport for the first time in the province.

A total of 25 billion won will be spent to construct a 520-meter long underground road connecting Yongmun-ro to Daho Village.

Jeju City said it will begin construction in September since the Jeju Regional Office of Aviation approved the design plan for the road last month.

Officials expect it will greatly ease traffic congestion near the airport once it opens in 2021.

지난 달 지하차도 개발사업 시행 허가를 받고
실시설계 용역을 마무리 한 뒤
9월 착공에 들어간다고 밝혔습니다.

공항 지하차도는
제주시 용문로에서 다호마을을 연결하는
520m 구간으로
사업비 250억 원이
투입됩니다.

제주시는
내후년, 2021년 지하차도가 개통하면
공항 일대 교통체증이
크게 해소될 것으로 기대하고 있습니다.
