2. Province cancels approval of Baitong Xinyuan Jeju Resort
Baitong Group fails to meet initial conditions of contract

The province canceled its approval of the foreign investment zone at Baitong Xinyuan Jeju Resort, which has been constructed by the China-based real estate developer Baitong Group.

Provincial officials explained that Baitong group failed to meet initial conditions of the approval during the investment implementation period. The company had promised to create a beer museum and ecological theme park, but the group didn’t keep the promise.

This is the second foreign investment project canceled by the province since the Yerae Resort Complex. The province will levy all previously exempt national and local taxes from Baitong Group.

The province had previously approved the company’s plans to build condominiums, hotels, a beer museum and an ecological theme park in Wimiri, Namwoneup by 2016 with an investment of 230 billion won.

생태테마파크 사업은 이행하지 않았기 때문입니다.

외국인 투자지역 지정 해제는
예래휴양형 주거단지에 이어 두번째로
제주도는
그동안 감면받았던 국세와 지방세를 환수하게 됩니다.

2016년까지 사업비 2천 300억원을 투입해
콘도와 호텔, 맥주박물관,
생태테마파크를 조성하는 내용의 개발사업을 승인 받았습니다.
