Prolonged Japan’s export regulations may harm local primary sector

The provincial government is taking measures against Japan's decision to formally exclude South Korea from the so-called white list of countries that receive preferential treatment in trade last Friday.

The province will establish and operate a response task force team and center to deal with problems caused by Japan's export regulations.

Officials will stay up to date on the export trends in Japan through an office in Tokyo and provide logistical support or tax breaks for companies that suffer from the regulations.

No damage from the export regulations has been reported so far, but prolonged restrictions may harm the local fishing and agricultural industry by export quotas and delayed customs.

제주도는
수출 대응 전담 TF팀과
일본수출규제 애로지원센터를 설치해 운영할 예정입니다.

동경사무소를 통해
일본 현지 수출 동향을 수시로 파악하고
피해가 우려되는 기업에 대해서는
물류비를 지원하거나 세제 감면 혜택을 제공합니다.

한편 현재까지 피해 신고는 없지만
수출규제가 장기화될 경우
제주 주력 대일 수출품인 농수산물의 경우
물량 제한이나 통관 지연으로 인한 피해가 우려됩니다.
