3. Local fisheries institute to strengthen water inflow monitoring
Researchers found no abnormalities so far

The Jeju Ocean and Fisheries Institute will strengthen monitoring for high temperature and low salinity water caused by prolonged heat waves entering the island’s coastal fishing areas.

The institute is setting up an emergency inspection team and devices will be installed at Chagwido Island and seaside areas of Pyoseon-myeon, Seogwipo City to monitor water temperature and salinity.

The institute will receive information on real-time surface water temperature from Korea Meteorological Administration and post this information on its website.

Researchers observed that there aren’t any abnormalities found in the waters so far.
