3. Local police arrest 30 illegal Chinese immigrants
Officers to heighten crackdown on illegal migrants

The local police caught a large number of illegal Chinese immigrants during its crackdown.

Thee Jeju Provincial Police Agency says it raided a residence in Aewol-eup, Jeju City, around 7 p.m. on Monday and caught 30 Chinese illegal immigrants. All offenders was repatriated to China.

All of them entered the island through transit without visa system. They had worked at local construction sites and farms.

Officers will investigate into whether a broker connected them to the job openings and will step up crackdown on illegal immigrants.

중국인 불법체류자 무더기 검거

제주지역에서 불법체류하던 중국인들이
경찰 단속에 무더기로 적발됐습니다.

제주지방경찰청은
지난 5일 저녁 7시 쯤
제주시 애월읍에 있는 한 숙소를 급습해
중국인 불법체류자 29살 A 씨 등 30명을 적발해
본국으로 귀국 조치했다고 밝혔습니다.

이들은 모두 제주에 무사증으로 들어와
제주지역 건설현장과 농장 등에서
일을 해왔던 것으로 알려졌습니다.

경찰은 이들을 상대로 일자리를 소개해준
알선책이 있는지 조사하는 한편
이에 대한 단속을 강화할 예정입니다.
