4. High Water surface temperature may cause fisheries damage
Jeju City to increase support for damage control

Local officials expect surface water temperatures in Jeju to rise. Islanders are concerned for possible damage to local fishing grounds.

The Jeju Municipal Office said it will work together with related organizations to instruct fishermen and operate a field response team to prevent damage.

The municipal office has supplied goods to reduce damage to 26 most vulnerable fish farms.

Officials will conduct heightened surveillance in vulnerable areas.

지난달 29일 제주 해역에 고수온 관심단계가 발령된 이후
표층수온 상승이 전망되면서 어장 피해 발생이 우려되고 있습니다.

제주시는 이에따라
어업인 자율방제 지도를 강화하고 현장대응반을 운영하는 등
관계기관과 합동으로
고수온 피해 예방에 대응해 나간다고 밝혔습니다.

이보다 앞서
고수온 대응이 취약한 양식장 26곳에
피해 저감 물품을 보급하는 등 예방 조치를 해 왔습니다.

제주시는 앞으로 취약지역을 중심으로 예찰활동을
강화해 나갈 계획입니다.
