Safety a factor in new 52-hour workweek for drivers

From Aug. 15, a number of local bus routes will see their schedules change in accordance with a new 52-hour workweek for drivers.

The province will modify the bus timetable schedules for 14 express and 15 regular bus routes, including routes of airport limousines.

To ensure bus drivers get enough rest, the 52-hour workweek was implemented and Passenger Transport Service Act has been revised.

The provincial government explained that it is working hard to accommodate passengers’ convenience by keeping the first and last bus service times and change the number of trips for some routes.

주 52시간 근무제 시행 등의 이유로
15일부터 일부 버스 노선 운행시간이 변경됩니다.

제주도는 15일부터 공항리무진을 포함한
급행버스 14개 노선과 일반간선버스 15개 노선의 운행시간표를 변경해 운행한다고 밝혔습니다.

이는 주 52시간 근무제 시행과
여객자동차운수사업법 개정에 따른 운전자의 휴식시간 보장을 위한
조치입니다.

제주도는 이용객 편의를 고려해
첫차와 막차 운행은 현행시간을 최대한 유지했으며
일부 노선에 한해 운행 횟수를 조정했다고 설명했습니다.
