1. Seongsan seniors submit a petition against island’s 2nd airport
Villagers ask President Moon to directly address the issue

A group of 600 seniors living in Seongsan-eup submitted a petition to South Korean President Moon Jae-in, prompting a quick resolution of issues surrounding the construction project of the island’s second airport in the area.

The groups were from three villages of Sinsan-ri, Nansan-ri and Susan-ri in Seongsan-eup. They delivered a petition to the President Moon and political party leaders.

The groups said that the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport is pushing the construction project regardless of the concerns people have about the new airport. They petitioned for President Moon to directly address the matter.

촉구하는 진정서를 제출했습니다.

3개 마을회 어르신 6백여 명은
제2공항 문제와 관련해
청와대와 정치권의 역할을 촉구하는 내용의
진정서를 조만간 문재인 대통령과
여야 정당 대표에게 전달했습니다.

어르신들은
국토부가 각종 의혹에도 불구하고
정당한 것처럼 주장하면서 사업을 강행하고 있다며
문재인 대통령이 직접 나서줄 것을
요청했습니다.
