2. Province’s rental car quota system faces ‘setback’
Officials approve increase of 1,094 rental cars

Some local rental car agencies that have voluntarily participated in the rental car reduction have been complaining declining sales during the summer peak season.

In response, the province allowed companies that have achieved 50 percent of their reduction targets to increase the number of rental cars temporarily.

Thus, 1,094 cars, or 40 percent of the total number of rental cars that have been reduced since the introduction of the rental car quota system are expected to increase.

Local officials explained that the decision was made to ensure fairness in the rental car industry.
