1. Councilors urge Japanese Consulate General to sell unused land
Local lawmakers to propose resolution prompting real estate sale

The provincial council is asking the Japanese Consulate General in Jeju to sell its real estate in Nohyeong-dong, Jeju City, following a KCTV news report.

Provincial lawmakers Kang Seong-min and Lee Seung-ah issued a press release on August 16th detailing concerns regarding possible uses of the land, which has remained unused since its initial date of purchase.

Councilors are asking the consulate to explain how the property was purchased, why it is not being used, and its future plans for use.

They added that the province should negotiate the sale of the property with the consulate so that the land can be allocated for public use.. They will also review plans to propose a resolution prompting the consulate to sell the property back to the provincial government.

부동산을 매입한 이후 아무런 용도로 사용하지 않고 있어
당초 의도와는 달리
다른 이득을 생각하는 것으로 의심된다고 주장했습니다.

이에따라 영사관 측은
부동산 매입 경위와 활용하지 않는 이유,
향후 활용 계획을 밝혀야 한다고 요구했습니다.

이와함께 도민의 공익적 공간으로 활용할 수 있도록
제주도가 부동산 매입 협의에 나서야 하고
다음 임시회에서
부동산 매각 촉구 결의안을 발의하는 방안도
검토하겠다고 덧붙였습니다.
