4. Illegal immigration broker arrested by Jeju Coast Guard
Officers detain 8 other illegal immigrants during crackdown

The Jeju Coast Guard raided a residence in Donam-dong, Jeju City on Monday night and arrested eight illegal immigrants and a broker. The broker, who had been on the run, has been helping illegal immigrants enter Jeju Island.

Officers said that the broker has been on the run for more than a year but was caught after his location was revealed by Chinese illegal immigrants who were arrested at a construction site in Gyeonggi-do Province this May.

The Jeju Coast guards will prosecute the broker on charges of violating the Jeju Special Law.

무사증 중국인 밀입국 알선책 1년만에 검거

도주 행각을 벌여온 무사증 불법이동 알선책
중국인 J씨와
불법체류자 8명을 무더기 검거했습니다.

해경에 따르면 알선책 J씨는
지난 1년여동안 경찰의 수사망을 피해오다
지난 5월 타지역으로 밀입국한
중국인 부부 L씨 등 2명이
경기지역 건설현장에서 검거되면서 소재가 파악돼
이번에 검거됐습니다.

제주해경은 체포된 밀입국 알선책 J씨를
제주특별법 위반 혐의로
구속수사할 방침입니다.
