4·3 related groups stress that revision bill must be priority

Reports of the April 3rd Special Act being excluded from the National Assembly Standing Committee’s review list has sparked strong opposition from groups of victims and bereaved families of the April 3rd Incident.

The Jeju April 3rd Bereaved Family Association issued a statement on Thursday, saying its members are infuriated and disappointed toward the April 3rd Special Act’s exclusion from the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee’s review list.

They asked the Democratic Party and Liberty Korea Party to urge National Assembly to prioritize the passage of the revision bill.

Meanwhile, the bill is currently pending at the National Assembly after it was proposed by Democratic Party Lawmaker Oh Young-hoon and other lawmakers. The bill includes compensations and establishment of trauma treatment centers for victims and bereaved families.
