4. Outdoor-grown mandarin crop: 528,000 tons
Researchers say sugar content is lower than last year

This year’s crop of outdoor-grown mandarin oranges is expected to be 528 thousand tons.

This prediction was made on the basis of the survey on 450 local mandarin orange orchards conducted by the mandarin observation committee and Jeju Agricultural Research and Extension Services.

The survey found that the average number of fruit per tree was 938 which is a 15% increase compared to last year.

The sugar content was 1.4 Brix lower than that of the previous year at 6.8 Brixs, while the acidity was 0.11% higher at 3.28%

The committee plans to announce the final estimated yield around November.

노지감귤 한그루당 평균 열매수는 938개로
지난해보다 15% 많았습니다.

당도는 6.8브릭스로
전년보다 1.4 브릭스 낮았고
산함량은 3.28%로 0.11% 높았습니다.

감귤관측조사위원회는
오는 11월쯤 최종 예상생산량을 발표할 계획입니다.
