5. Jeju tops nation in seniors' welfare, employment
Province offered jobs to some 12,000 seniors in 2018

Jeju ranked No.1 in the national evaluation of jobs for senior citizens. The evaluation was organized by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and the Korea Labor Force Institute for the Aged.

The provincial government has been given the honor of being selected the best institution promoting public welfare, employment and entrepreneurship for the seniors for seven consecutive years.

Also, Jeju City and Seogwipo City each received the grand prize and excellent institute award, respectively. Meanwhile, the executing organizations, Seogwipo Senior’s Club and Jeju Senior’s Club were also awarded the first prize and an excellence award, respectively.

The province has offered jobs to some 12,100 elderly people through 10 employment agencies last year.

제주특별자치도가
보건복지부와 한국노인인력개발원에서 주관하는
노인일자리 사업 평가에서 전국 1위를 차지했습니다.

이에따라 제주도는
7년 연속 공익활동과 시장형 분야 우수 기관으로 선정되는
영예를 안게 됐습니다.

또 제주시와 서귀포시는 시.군.구 평가에서
대상과 우수기관에 선정됐고
수행기관인 서귀포시니어클럽과 제주시니어클럽도
각각 최우수상과 우수상을 차지했습니다.

제주도는 지난해 10개 수행기관을 통해
1만2천100여 명의 어르신에게 일자리를 제공했습니다.
