1. A joint group urges passage of 4·3 Special Law revision bill
120 groups to gather signatures

A movement across the nation has been launched to push for the passage of the long-delayed revision bill of the April 3rd Special Law.

Participants of the movement held an inaugural press conference at the provincial council on Monday morning and said 120 organizations, including April 3rd Incident victims’ committee, research institute and civic and religious groups, are joining the cause. The joined groups will carry out various campaigns to push for the passage of the bill within this year.

They stressed that the 20th regular session of the National Assembly, which was held September 2nd, is the last chance to pass the bill. The revision bill includes compensation for victims of the April 3rd Incident and their bereaved families and nullification of illegal military trials.

The group plans to gather signatures to petition to the National Assembly and the Blue House for a prompt passage of the revision bill.

특별법 개정안의 연내 국회 통과를 목표로 다양한 운동을 전개하겠다고 밝혔습니다.

특히 4·3 희생자와 유족에 대한 배·보상과
불법 군사재판 무효화 등을 담은 특별법 개정이 시급하다며
지난 2일 개회한 20대 마지막 정기국회가
사실상 마지막 기회라고 강조했습니다.

이 단체는 다음 달까지
특별법 개정을 촉구하는 서명운동을 실시해 국회와 청와대 등에 전달하고
국회를 대상으로 개정 촉구 활동도 해나갈 계획입니다.
