1. Jeju City designates Hancheon stream as disaster risk zone
Officials to launch maintenance work

The Jeju Municipal Office designated Hancheon stream a disaster risk zone on September 11th. The stream will be put under maintenance to reduce damage from water overflow caused by typhoons and heavy rain.

The maintenance project will start from next year with an investment of about 30 billion won. The construction will start from 2021 after the basic design that will be complete next year.

Officials plan to fully reflect islander’s opinions in the project to decide on the construction plan and method.

한천 재해위헙지구 지정…정비사업 본격

태풍이나 집중호우 때마다 하천 범람으로 피해가 우려되는
제주시 한천 복개구간이 자연재해위험개선지구로 지정되면서
정비사업이 본격 추진됩니다.

제주시는 한천 복개구간에 대해 지난 11일자로
자연재해위험지구로 지정 고시했다고 밝혔습니다.

이에따라 내년부터 약 300억원을 투입하게 되며
내년 기본 설계를 거쳐 2021년부터 공사에 들어갈 계획입니다.

제주시는 설계과정에 주민들의 의견을 충분히 반영해
공사방법과 공사계획 등을 결정해 나갈 방침입니다.
