1. Civic and human rights groups urge UN to resolve 4·3 incident issues
Groups ask for international interest and support
The bereaved families of the April 3rd Incident and domestic human rights groups have called on the United Nations to foster an international interest to solve issues surrounding the April 3rd Incident.
The Jeju April 3rd Bereaved Family Association, the Jeju Dark Tour and other related groups participated in the 42nd session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva from last Wednesday to Friday. The groups testified the massacre and called for the U.S. military to clarify its responsibility.
They also notified the international community of the need to revise the April 3rd Special Law to compensate victims and bereaved families of the April 3rd Incident. They distributed camellia badges to promote public interest in the tragic historical event.
