Violators to be fined up to ?\1M

The local police will crackdown on unregistered pets in the island.

The province and the municipal police officers will actively check pets taking walks at parks and residential areas for microchip registry through October 13th.

Owners of unregistered pets will be fined up to 1 million won.

Meanwhile, the number of registered pets in the province has shown a steady increase with 18,700 in 2017, 23,000 last year and 29,000 this year.

미등록 반려동물에 대한 현장 지도 단속이 실시됩니다.

제주도와 자치경찰은 다음달 13일까지
공원과 주택가에서 산책하는
반려동물의 동물칩 등록 여부를 확인합니다.

미등록시에는 반려동물 주인에게 과태료를 부과할 계획입니다.

한편 도내 등록된 반려동물은
지난 2017년 1만 8천 7백마리,
지난해 2만 3천마리,
올해 2만 9천여 마리로 해마다 늘고 있습니다.
