5. Age, education, economic level show correlation with dementia
11.4% of seniors receiving care services are at risk for Alzheimer’s disease
Age, academic background, economic level, and depression are found to have a significant impact on dementia.
The province surveyed 4,700 seniors receiving care services and found that 11.4 percent of them were at high risk for Alzheimer’s disease.
By gender, men accounted for 15.6 percent, while women accounted for 10.9 percent. By region, Jeju City and Seogwipo City accounted for 10.6 and 13.3 percent, respectively.
The survey showed that those who were older, with lower education background, lower economic levels and higher depression levels have more possibility of obtaining dementia.

정신건강 실태를 조사한 결과
치매 고위험군은 11.4%로 나타났습니다.
성별로 보면 남성이 15.6%, 여성이 10.9%,
지역별로는 제주시가 10.6%, 서귀포시 13.3%로 나왔습니다.
특히 고령이고 낮은 학력, 낮은 경제수준,
높은 우울감을 가지고 있을수록
치매위험은 높은 것으로 분석됐습니다.
