4. Torch of 100th National Sports Festival to be lit at Marado
Flame to travel across nation with 1,100 torchbearers

The torch of the 100th National Sports Festival will be lit at Marado-island, Korea’s southernmost point.

This is the first time for the torch to be lit and carried throughout the nation. The lighting started from the west at Manisan mountain at Ganghwado-island on the 22nd then the east at Dokdo-island and the north at Imjingak. It will be lighted at Marado-island on the 26th.

The torch relay will continue through October 4th with 1,100 participants running a total of 2,019 kilometers across 17 cities and provinces.

This year’s 100th National Sports Festival will be held in Seoul on October 4th.

전국체전 100주년 성화 26일 마라도서 채화

오는 10월 서울에서 열리는 제100회 전국체전 성화가
오는 26일 국토최남단 마라도에서 채화됩니다.

사상 처음으로 전국에서 채화되는 이번 전국 체전 성화는
지난 22일 서쪽의 강화도 마니산 참성단을 시작으로
동쪽의 독도, 북쪽의 임진각, 남쪽의 마라도에서 차례로
채화됩니다.

성화 봉송은 다음달 4일까지 1천100명의 주자들이
올해 2019년도를 의미하는 2천19킬로미터 구간을
전국 17개 시도에 걸쳐 달리게 됩니다.
