This week on Jeju: A to Z, Todd Thacker takes a brief look at sites in the southwest of Jeju Island that attract millions of visitors a year, specifically the O’sulloc Tea Museum and Spirited Garden.
In the west of Jeju Island is a rural road that has a remarkable array of popular visitor destinations. Though remote, the tranquil setting and sheer variety of attractions makes it an excellent day trip.

In this report, we’ll profile two sites located on “Green Tea Road” and mention a few more for your Jeju travel list.
First up is O’sulloc. This spot is extremely popular with domestic and international visitors for its panoramic, tidy fields of green tea.
Given its beautiful rustic scenery, it’s an excellent place to contemplate the traditional tea culture of Korea, one which goes back many centuries.

O’sulloc is home to a Green Tea Museum which covers all areas of green tea production: from its cultivation, to roasting and consumption.
There is a tea cup gallery and tea ceremony space, an indoor garden, and an area to order all sorts of tea-related beverages and desserts.
O’sulloc green tea is also a major ingredient in Jeju-produced cosmetics, many of which are well-known and sought after throughout the region and the world.

Another smaller but similarly popular destination is called “Spirited Garden.” This version of the verdant southwest is a compilation of seven small flower, rock, and bonsai gardens.
The designers intended visitors to stroll through at a leisurely, contemplative pace.
