Third highest number of lawsuits among national university hospitals

The Jeju National University Hospital had 40 medical malpractice lawsuits over the last five years.

According to data submitted by the Ministry of Education to Lawmaker Park Chan-dae, Jeju National University Hospital had been sued 40 times for medical malpractice from 2015 through this August.

This figure is the third-highest amongst the country's state-run university hospitals, following 49 cases from Seoul National University Hospital and 48 from Pusan National University Hospital.

The number of applications for medical dispute mediations also increased every year from 3 applicants in 2015 to 12 last year.

지난 2015년부터 올해 8월까지 제주대병원의 의료사고 소송은
40건입니다.

이는 서울대병원 49건, 부산대병원 48건에 이어
국립대 병원 가운데 세번째로 높은 수치입니다.

의료사고로 인한 의료분쟁 조정 신청도
지난 2015년 3건에서 지난해 12건으로 해마다 증가한 것으로
나타났습니다.
