[slug] Unstable meteorological conditions result in hail
As a typhoon approached the island bringing with it a warm front, this mixed with a regional cold front. The atmosphere around the island became unstable, which led to the creation of hailstones.
On the night of Sept. 30th, hail hammered down on the garden in front of the guest house, destroying it.
Area residents were shocked to observe the weather take a sudden, violent turn.

This unseasonable hailstorm destroyed the crops of nearby farms.
Farmers had just completed sowing carrots for a second time because a series of typhoons had damaged previous crops.
The hail flattened the stocks of the new carrots.
The stalks of deodeok (더덕) plants ? an ingredient in Korean cuisine were also severely broken, having been weakened and damaged in previous typhoons.
Typhoons, heavy rainfall and hail have9 adversely affected this year's crops.
Farmers are frustrated by the repeated damage.
[slug] 260 hectares of farms in the east damaged by hail
It is estimated that about 260 hectares of farm land on the eastern side of the island were hammered by the 30-minute-long hailstorm.
What is worse is that yet another typhoon has hit the island.
The province has announced it will provide compensation for losses sustained by farmers.
